On the Mumbai attacks

(monkeysmashesheaven.wordpress.com)

Recently several attacks took place in Mumbai, India. The death toll is around 175, including five Amerikans, at last count. According to the bourgeois media, the attacks targeted establishments frequented by Westerners and Jews. Tourist hotels and restaurants were the scenes of ongoing gun battles that were broadcast continuously. The moralistic narrative repeated over and over on 24 hour news channels was one that further legitimized Amerika’s so-called war on terror. The imperialist narrative calling these attacks “terrorist” should be opposed. At this point, Monkey Smashes Heaven (MSH) has no line on whether the attacks were acts of the people or not.

Imperialist hypocrisy

The imperialists were quick to condemn the acts as “terrorist.” Compared to the deaths inflicted on humanity everyday by imperialism, 175 deaths is a drop in the ocean. The imperialist war against the Third World takes many forms and has cost many more lives. It takes the traditional military form as is seen in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, etc.. Millions die every decade through imperialist military assaults and the counter-revolutionary wars waged by imperialism’s proxy armies. Through economic warfare billions in the Third World are reduced to a survival or sub-survival existence. Through cultural warfare countless oppressed nations have been obliterated. The capitalist zombie culture destroys the diversity and beauty of indigenous cultures in every corner of the globe.

It is arch-hypocricy that Amerikans see themselves as victims on the global scale. Amerikans are the perpetuators and main beneficiaries of the massive crimes of imperialism. Even the poorest Amerikans are some of the richest people in the world. The very land that Amerikans live on was stolen as part of the greatest genocide in human history: the near complete extermination of a continent of people in North America. Countless indigenous nations were exterminated. The Black nation was brutally enslaved. Half of Mexico was stolen and occupied. Today Amerikans keep the Third World weak and poor. To maintain the decadent way of life of Amerikans, capitalism has placed Earth on a trajectory toward ecological catastrophe. The whole planet may be destroyed so that Amerikans can consume more and more.

It is important to point out that Amerikans are not innocent. Imperialists, Amerikans, are the real “terrorists.”

On the so-called Communist Party of the Philippines

At present next to nothing is known about the ongoing Mumbai attacks. One Indian Jihadist group has claimed responsibility. Yet even the bourgeois media admits that it is premature to draw conclusions about responsibility. With the basic facts of the events still in question, people should wonder why the so-called Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) has decided to intervene to denounce the attacks. (1) The CPP states, “In behalf of the revolutionary forces and people in the Philippines, the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) condemns in the strongest terms the acts of terror and wanton killings carried out since Wednesday evening in Mumbai, India by a group calling itself the ‘Deccan Mujahideen.’ Over 125 have already been killed and many more hurt in the indiscriminate attacks and hostage-taking of innocent civilians in Mumbai. The CPP and the revolutionary movement in the Philippines express their sympathy and extend their condolences to the victims, their relatives and the Indian people.” And, “The CPP is confident that the Mumbai terror attacks will not draw the Indian people’s attention and strength away from their revolutionary struggle that is advancing in great strides in the Indian countryside.”

The CPP has been leading an armed struggle in the Philippines since the 1960s. It leads of the Filipino people’s movement, which should be supported despite its revisionist leadership. The CPP is a revisionist, First Worldist organization that is ideologically moribund. Its opportunist leader, Jose Maria Sison, misrepresents the reality of global class struggle in order to derail the united front and global people’s war against the First World. Although Sison’s revisionist attacks against the broader Third World people’s movement is more subtle, the effect is the same as the RIM’s. Jose Maria Sison represents de facto First World leadership of a Third World people’s movement. There is no future for the people’s movement in the Philippines so long as First Worldists are in the leadership.

The statement of the CPP demonstrates their rejection of the broad untied front against imperialism. Like the RIM, the CPP sees the Islamic upsurge as an enemy. They fail to recognize the democratic content and legitimate aims of Islamic resistance.

The CPP states that the recent acts could possibly lead to more U$ intervention in the region. In reality, the U$ could use any excuse to further intervene in the region. This does not mean that armed groups should stop resisting imperialism as the CPP’s logic concludes. People’s rebellion always leads to polarizations and escalations by imperialists. The people’s movement should always reserve the right to go on the offensive. It is better to be attacked than to be irrelevant.

One reason that the CPP apes part of the imperialist narrative on Mumbai is because they want off the U$ terrorist list. They fear the imperialists. In addition, being placed on the list makes it difficult for them to cut deals with the imperialists as their fraternal so-called Communist Party of Nepal has done.

The CPP has much credibility due to the people’s movement in the Philippines. This credibility gives them cover to engage in wrecking activity worldwide. The CPP’s role in the International Communist Movement (ICM) is to undermine genuine revolutionary forces that aim to advance the global people’s war.

Revisionism is the enemy within. It is time that communists remember the lessons of the Cultural Revolution. Fighting revisionism means taking on difficult and unpopular struggles. Revisionism is not some exotic other, it lives in the very heart of revolutionary movements. To fight revisionism, it has to be identified in the concrete. It is almost a half century after the beginning of the Cultural Revolution, and so-called communists have not absorbed Mao’s lesson, to paraphrase: Where is the bourgeoisie? It is right here, in the communist party itself, those in power taking the capitalist road. One reason for the sad state of the people’s movements is that this truth has yet to be understood. Even those calling themselves Maoist are, at best, usually working only within the ideological coordinates of so-called Marxism-Leninism. Maoism was elevated to the third stage of revolutionary science by Lin Biao. Since then, revolutionary science has been elevated to a fourth stage: Maoism-Third Worldism. It is absolutely necessary for the ICM to be reestablished on a scientific basis. The opportunism of those in the orbit of the so-called RIM and ICMLPO will only lead to further retrogression and wasted time. Those who see the truth need to get off the fence.  It is imperative for advanced comrades to speak up.

People’s war versus propaganda by the deed

At present, the nature of the Mumbai attacks is not known for sure. There is not enough information available to classify the attacks yet. However, tactics aimed at gaining publicity through the bourgeois media, if used, should be integrated into the comprehensive strategy of people’s war. By contrast, propaganda by the deed seeks to inspire a revolt through high profile acts of violence. At bottom propaganda by the deed is an idealist strategy. It assumes that high profile acts of violence will cause a spiritual awakening to topple the state. Such tactics are based on idealism are associated with focoism and anarchism.

By contrast, Marxist tactics and strategy are based on materialism. People’s war is the road to power for the proletariat. People’s war is a protracted and comprehensive process to build new, proletarian power. People’s war begins in the periphery and moves toward the core of the old society. In agricultural societies, this means moving from the countryside to surround the cities. In the urbanized Third World, people’s war means moving from the places where the reactionary state is the weakest, in the shantytowns and ghettos, to the centers of political and economic power. On a global scale, it means moving from the global countryside to surround and defeat the global cities as outlined by Lin Biao’s Long Live the Victory of People’s War!

People’s war is military science and more. People’s war is an economic strategy of displacing the old economy that serves the imperialists and their lackeys with the new economy that serves the people. The new economy severs its dependence with imperialist capital and imperialist markets. Instead the new economy is one where the people control development. A principle of self-reliance governs the new economy. People’s war is war in the superstructure. Old culture props up the reactionary order is replaced by culture that encourages the people to unleash their full potential in the pursuit of revolution. All of society becomes a giant school where the best in people in cultivated. Unleashing the spiritual atom bomb of the masses through Maoism-Third Worldism is a part of the overall strategy of people’s war.

Propaganda by the deed is, at bottom, religious. People’s war, by contrast, is science. Not all the facts are in about Mumbai. It would be premature to judge the events.

Isn’t it interesting that the media here in the United Snakes is only talking about the western victims when most of the victims were actually Indian. It just shows that Amerikkkans only care about their own people and maybe some other western countries. If their were no western victims this probably would not have even been much of a story here in this U.S.
